Step 1
Contact Us
The first step in the consultation process is to contact us. We’ll ask you a few simple questions to make sure there aren’t any conflicts. Next, we’ll schedule a time for you to speak with a lawyer that same day or within 24 hours depending on the client’s availability. The lawyer will then determine whether we’re able to assist you. Then, if appropriate, we’ll schedule you for a formal consultation with a lawyer who fits your needs.

Step 2
PREPARING FOR A CONSULTATION
Your time with a lawyer is important. Here are eight tips to help you get the most out of your initial consultation.
Tip 1
Make sure you know the name and contact information of the lawyer you’re meeting with, along with the time and place of your appointment.
Tip 2
Bring any relevant court documents (summons, petition, transcripts, orders, etc.) pertaining to your case or action.
Tip 3
Bring any other relevant documentation (records, filings, evidence, etc.) that might have a bearing on your legal matter.
Tip 4
Think about what you want with respect to your legal matter. We’ll be better able to help you if you know the outcomes you desire.
Tip 5
Prepare to be honest. Everything you say will be treated with utmost confidentiality, so you can feel comfortable talking freely with us.
Tip 6
Review the facts. We may ask you some tough questions, but it is for your benefit to share all relevant aspects of your issue with us.
Tip 7
Consider any questions you may have. We’ll do our best to answer them candidly and with as much detail as you need.
Tip 8
Show up on time and be prepared to take notes. Let us know ahead of time if you need to reschedule.
Step 3
MEET YOUR lawyer
The lawyer you consult with will discuss your legal matter with you in some detail. If you don’t understand something, ask us to explain it again. We don’t mind. Really.
If we decide that we can help you with your matter, and you decide you want to proceed, we’ll work together to determine the best path forward to meet your legal need.
The lawyer with whom you consulted may or may not be the one who eventually handles your legal issue. If a different lawyer is assigned to you, we look forward to introducing you to a trusted colleague.
